Goal 2: Community-wide awareness of library programs and services
Objectives and strategies:
A. Implement an public relations and marketing plan
- Identify the strengths and weaknesses of current practices
- Benchmark practices with other libraries recognized as exemplary by the Kentucky Public Library Association
- Increase support for and use of social media marketing activites
- Promote word-of-mouth marketing best practices
- Improve marketing of the bookmobile
B. Advance community partnerships
- Review current community partners
- Identify potential new partners
- Participate in community events to increase the visibility of the library
- Assign a staff member to oversee the on-going development of community partnerships
- Increase collaboration with the Friends of the Woodford County Library
C. Increase library membership and usage
- Increase outreach to underserved populations and groups
- Identify and invite targeted user groups to the library
- Create displays each month to promote various parts of the collection
- Reach out to new community members
